It’s been a while since we’ve shared any fresh news with you!
So here’s the scoop: Stéphane is focusing on several projects these days. First up is his new trio, for which he’s composed a special suite called Structural Memory (No. 1 WGZFM) --> premiering at the Belgian Jazz Festival on April 3! He’ll be playing alto and C Melody saxophone, flute, and percussion via Ableton effects (on laptop). Don’t miss it!
Apart from that: he is still conducting the Jazz Station Big Band, with a live recording scheduled for June 4 and 5 (a tribute to Maya Angelou), and an album release with David Linx in 2027.
His long-held dream of playing with strings has also come true, thanks to contemporary classical composer Stéphane Orlando. An album is set to be released on Home Records, and a concert is scheduled for the Tournai Jazz Festival in June. The Edinburgh Quartet is simply fabulous with the Irish trio (Darren Beckett and Dave Redmond).

Stéphane Mercier & Quantum Stereo is finally out on all platforms! The music of this UK/US/Belgian group started shaping during the pandemic, hence a very produced sound, made possible by the wizard Carl Corcoran. Imagine a modern age Weather Report, with and without vocals. Quantum Stereo features Stella Angelika on voice, Jason Rebello on keys, Jack Gillen on guitar, Darren Beckett on drums, Nicolas Thys on bass, Grégoire Maret on harmonica and Loïc Dumoulin on fluegelhorn. This new album is a tribute to the great Paul Desmond, composer of the eternal hit Take 5. This was recorded in UK and produced by Jean Kluger. On March 23rd, Stéphane will perform the songs of this new opus, but will as well celebrate the launch of his brand new label Step By Records.

B.Konexion big releases with KlapYaHandz

Stéphane's band from back in the days in Boston recorded a new EP with special hip hop and singing artists such as Napoleon Da Legend, Nejma Nefertiti, Izame Siva and Vin Vitou.
The famous Cambodian label KlaYaHandz will release the first single and its video clip "New Exotic" on July 15th.
